We’re looking for an HR Manager (People & Culture Lead) to help us nurture a thriving culture, strengthen engagement, and ensure our company’s values are lived—not just written.
Job Type: Full-time hybrid remote (North York)
Compensation: $55,000 – $70,000 Depending on experience
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment, Engagement & Retention
- Lead talent acquisition from posting to onboarding, ensuring a positive and values-driven candidate experience.
- Build and refine recruitment and onboarding processes with an emphasis on culture integration and engagement.
- Manage onboarding, engagement, retention, and exit systems.
- Develop programs to boost morale, recognition, and job satisfaction while reducing turnover.
- Partner with managers to maintain accurate role descriptions, performance expectations, pipeline planning, and reviews.
- Coordinate closely with Payroll for new hires, terminations, and employee changes.
- Liaise with group benefit providers and ensure consistent, proactive communication.
- Conduct exit interviews and share insights to strengthen retention and team health.
2. Employee Engagement & Relations
- Foster collaboration, teamwork, and alignment across all levels of the organization.
- Support leadership and staff with day-to-day HR guidance rooted in fairness and compassion.
- Create meaningful opportunities for employees to voice ideas, feedback, and concerns.
- Facilitate performance management and regular feedback cycles to reinforce accountability and growth.
- Identify and address early signs of disengagement or cultural misalignment.
- Promote open communication, psychological safety, and mutual respect.
3. Training & Development
- Refine and deliver a consistent onboarding experience for future hires.
- Design hiring frameworks and interview processes that align with GTAHB’s core values and Four Goals.
- Develop training programs that build both technical competence and emotional intelligence.
- Equip managers with tools for coaching, feedback, and team development.
- Encourage self-awareness, empathy, and team cohesion through workshops and one-on-one support.
4. Individual Coaching & Performance Development
- Provide direct observation and feedback for staff in various roles to support their professional development.
- Offer personalized coaching plans tailored to individual strengths, growth areas, and career goals.
- Reinforce a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and self-leadership.
- Support leaders in applying consistent, values-based accountability practices.
5. HR Operations & Organizational Support
- Maintain HR systems, policies, and documentation in compliance with employment legislation.
- Partner with leadership to implement business frameworks such as management rhythms and leadership development programs.
- Ensure clear, timely communication between departments and act as a trusted resource for all staff.
- Contribute to internal projects and company initiatives that support organizational growth and stability.
Qualifications
- 3+ yrs experience, ideally within a multi-division or fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized with strong time-management and prioritization abilities.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion, and sound judgment.
